The Mikado tells the story of Nanki-Poo's flight from the unwelcome attentions of the elderly Katisha, and of his marriage to Yum-Yum. The Japan of The Mikado is very English, as the operetta pokes fun at many English institutions of the 19th century.
This edition gives the vocal lines with piano accompaniment. As such, it is ideal for use by singers, musical directors and pianists, though the score contains no orchestral cues.
