The climax of this film takes place in a theater during the finale of Act One of The Mikado. Some Mikado music is also used during the car chase - speeded up, of course !
The film uses artists, costumes and scenery from the New York City Opera, performing at what is supposed to be the War Memorial Opera House in San Francisco, but what is actually the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles.
